So I've got a question about that impending meteor
As has been pointed out before on DU, it's well-established that meteors or other world-ending catastrophic events invariably follow the election of a black President.

My question is, how long do we have until this happens? Does the meteor let the President get kinda settled in first, like at least a year? Or does it usually wait until the second term, to make sure he's really popular?

I know I'm several months early, but I need to pack.

1. I think the meteor waits until the end of the first term.
That's what I heard anyway.

2. The definitive authority on the subject,
The movie "Deep Impact," has Morgan Freeman as the President. However, it's a bit fuzzy on how long he held the office prior to the planet's imminent doom.

Based on that, it's difficult to say how soon we'll be screwn.

4. We should have until Inauguration Day, at the very earliest, before complete annihilation.
Smoke 'em if you got 'em.

5. I think it is an asteroid.
The hammer of dog is an asteroid, and it will come at a time to save us all from peace in the middle east. So pack when you see that coming.

12. Which one?
And they technically aren't "meteors" until they enter the atmosphere (and at planetary velocities that passage takes all of a couple of seconds).

There are several asteroid threats paying us visits in 2014 and 2019. The worst one is our 2014 visitor:

This one would be a major extinction event if it were to hit. Imagine twenty million Hiroshimas. Half the world incinerated followed by the entire world starving in a nuclear winter.
