2. "Take Five" is Brubeck's composition, written in 5/4 time
"Take the A Train" was written by Billy Strayhorn and popularized by Duke Ellington.

If you don't already know, you can't possibly "belong". Where have you been???

I'm SO disgusted at your lack of musical knowledge, that I'll spare you the ignominy of not knowing, for the next time the subject comes up. Sheesh:

9. See, this is where I get confused.
Are you mocking me?
Are you faux mocking me?
I don't understand.
Should I put a 3/4 dia carbide three flute end mill up your
nose at 2000 rpm?

Or something else?

13. Stunningly, there already is a 3/4 dia carbide three flute end mill up my nose
but it's stationary. Causing it to rotate wouldn't be very nice. ;)

my greetings. Actually word didn't come to me until I joined the army and went to basic training.

BTW, that is a beautiful piece of metal.

I used to manage a bicycle shop and I grew to love the workmanship of Campagnolo components and tools. Their cutting tools for frame builders were the best. Their anodizing was the best to be found.

This set costs about six grand now.

One of the best jazz songs I've heard. And I still like old Duke's version of Take The A Train the best out of all the versions I've heard (though the version with Ella Fitzgerald is pretty awesome too).

26. LOL...don't get me going on the Leningrad Cowboys.

Duke is still my fave when it comes to jazz. I love the swing feel to the older jazz. Hard to pick a favorite though because it's so open and free that it's all good (the same freedom is why I like most of the music I normally get into. No rules!). There's so many styles within the genre. When I started getting into jazz (only about 10 years back) it was like discovering a whole new planet to explore. I've been hooked since.

Here's my favorite jazz song ever, with a sax solo by Paul Gonsalves to die for. You probably know it, but it's worth hearing often.

Swing Low Sweet Cadillac is the first song on it. I love this song! I blurt out "Molombo!" quite often. :)
