In its new issue, Us Weekly reports that Jessica Simpson's controlling father Joe has brought her relationship with Tony Romo to the brink and was the main source behind their split in May.

A source tells Us Joe asked Romo, 28, to drop his agent so he could take over his NFL career and $67.5 million contract.

He even offered to broker a deal to sell his engagement and wedding to a magazine should Romo and Jessica, 27, get engaged. "'If you guys have a marriage, I can do the same that I did with Ashlee,'" a source quotes Joe as saying.

I wouldn't want this to happen to Tony Romo. Jessica needs to grow up before she marries Tony or any other man. Damn, I always thought mother-in-laws were meddling b's. I can't wait until Ashlee's baby is born. Joe will be selling the photos of the grandchild. Joe Simpson, father? More like Joe Simpson, pimp. Look what this man has done to these girls - neither of them have their original looks since they've both gone under the knife. Hell he turned Jessica Simpson into some sort of distorted looking Barbie Doll. Plus now anytime you see Jessica she's dressing like something you'd see walking on the streets. It's like he's pimping out his daughters and to be honest - I still can't name one song either of these girls have sung.

And clearly Joe ain't doing that good of a job - Jessica's last movie went straight to video and the next one isn't looking that much better.
