Someone once started a thread where the concept was pick a great novel and turn it into a bad movie.
I have made my selection and would like to re-open this topic.
I believe that the best great novel to ruin is making a 4 hour film version of Thomas Mann's Buddenbrooks with the Baldwins cast as the different characters throughout the generations.
With: Steven Seagal as Gandalf Jean Claude Van Damme as Sarumen Harvey Fierstein as Strider/Aragorn Rosie O'Donnell as Arwen and Vern "mini me" Troyer in multiple roles as Frodo, Sam, Merry & Pippin.
