My work has 50 staff members, full and part-time
Yet only ten showed up at an appreciation party for our pledge drive volunteers; the people who answer the phones and take the pledges so we can raise enough funds to operate for the next six months.

It really bums me out. I know it's a summer Sunday and people value their free time. But it makes all these people who give us their time -- and often their money -- feel as though they aren't very important to the people on the air. And we'd be lost without them.

1. that is a shame. But..
I'm sure those who volunteered felt good about volunteering and the party was just something nice for them to attend. I'm glad that ten people took the time to be with the volunteers!

One of these days I'll get to volunteer there! Last time it was illness in the family :(

keeping fingers crossed for next time.
