2. At our new little small town natural market.
In looking at their website you can't get it on the east coast. :( Bummer, because it's totally worth it.

Right here at New Seasons -- I'm going to get some tomorrow.

I love coconut (HAUPIA is the Hawaiian word) but haven't been able to find a good flavored ice cream.

We had some in Hawaii but not here.

Thanks so much.

20. The non-coconut flavored kind has only a mild undercurrent of coconut flavor.
But the coconut flavored kind is supposed to be nice and coco-nutty!

It's not cheap, but it's quality ingredients and health benefits over ice cream are definitely added value!

29. I go to all of the natural food stores, but my husband likes Costco.
I love the People's Food Coop on the east side of the Willamette River.

But with the price of gas, I guess I'll stay in my own city.

or coming into the Lounge and having a devil of a time with my brutish appetite.

NO I WON'T HAVE ANY ICE CREAM NOW.

A yogurt, maybe, with some prunes?

21. Nope!
This was my first time! I've recently been on a new coconut oil kick - and was at the natural market to get some coconut milk I need to make a butternut squash in coconut milk recipe I have everything *else* for. I decided to FINALLY try a vegan ice cream since I wasn't already spending a large amount on groceries - and when I checked out the selection I found this kind w/ coconut milk. Well, being a recent coconut oil (and milk) convert based on their amazing health properties I decided to buy THAT kind. I definitely don't regret it. :)

I'm not even sure what other flavors they have for sale at the market, but I will be finding out. ;)

27. You will lurve it.
I think it's the best fake ice "cream" you will ever have - based on everything I've been reading and not my own personal experience. There appear to be vegan ice cream maker recipes made from coconut milk online ... I may have to invest myself in an ice cream maker.

7. Well...
Keeping in mind that I've yet to try any other vegan ice cream ... it's creamy with a slight ice-milk feel. Does that help?

You should find a Texan (closest available state to you) willing to pack you up a dry ice shipment! :D

Ice cream isn't ice cream if it more resembles sorbet.

Excuse me, I need to network with my Texas contacts...

Nope. Not false advertising - it really *is* creamy. Then, because I doubt myself I looked up some reviews online. All I can say is that I guess there's one more reason it sucks to live in Florida. haha!

Oh! Oh! Oh! Purely Decadent is now making a coconut milk based variety!! You may be able to find that! I think that would be virtually identical to the Coconut Bliss.

It looks like Purely Decadent is now making a coconut milk based version of their ice cream that looks similar if not identical to the brand I originally posted about. From what I read they are using Agave nectar also - which means good things for the blood sugar!

You can probably find that brand in Florida!

23. Have you used agave nectar as a sweetener before?
Apparently not *all* diabetics have a trouble-free time with it, but many are able to have it without the blood sugar spike. Just wanted to throw that out there - I don't want a recommendation I make to make you ill!

stivia is about the only sweetener that doesn't make me ill. I can't even have the artificial stuff because of my fibromyalgia! Kinda sucks. :-(

If so, you'll have a whole new world opened to you in that respect. They sell agave nectar at most health food stores ... people use it for just about everything. I don't have experience with it yet, but I know LeftyMom just made vegan baklava with it!

30. Oh boy! I'm on a coconut ice cream kick anyway
and they carry that at one of my local stores, so guess I will be trying some soon!

I like to make it like an almond joy candy bar, I add chopped almonds and dark chocolate M&Ms, and it's just like an almond joy. Can't wait to try that with this "actual" coconut ice cream instead of just flavored like it

Does the coconut one actually have bits of coconut in it too, or just the flavor? I like having the texture too.
