I think I've worn out my Metallica "Black" CD in the last 3 days.

Give me some ideas - I'm begging you!!!!

1. well, I can't stay angry for three days, but ...
very loud blues rock works.

The Stones, George Thorogood, Stevie Ray Vaughan.

28. The pit at their show was one of the scariest I've been in.
I've been seeing shows since the early 80's and even the hardcore punk shows were polite compared to PD. Been into PD for awhile now, but last year was the first and only chance I've had to see them live.

Phantom Limb was my pick for CD of the year last year. It wasn't breaking new ground, but it did what it did perfectly, and scratched a major itch. It was a work of relentless beauty. :)

The Four Horsemen: Rockin' Is Ma' Business

We got hard drivin' cuties in their daddy's car
Shakin' their thing at every rock 'n' roll star
Got romance, hot pants, and I'm leavin' dust
Let me tell you 'bout love, it's in the back of the bus

Daddy said, son, do what you should
Rockin' is my business - business is good

Now, pay attention...

We got cute suit dudes - they say they knew her
The book of rock 'n' roll - mf - I wrote it, get out
You got no time - just sign on that bottom line
Leave it up to me, boy - everything's fine

Daddy said, son, do what you should
Rockin' is my business - business is good

If it's so good - why am I still broke?

We got hard rock babes in a Chevy Nova
Havin' a hard time largely with the scumbag who owns us
Studio, studio - night and day
Gotta play your songs boy - or you won't get laid

Daddy said, son, do what you should
Rockin' is my business - business is good

Rockin' is my business - business is good
Rockin' is my business - business is good
Rockin' is my business - business is good
Rockin' is my business - business is good

The Stooges: Loose (especially the version by Buick MacKane):

Now look out
I took a record of pretty music
I went down and baby you can tell
I took a record of pretty music
Now I'm putting it to you straight from hell
I'll stick it deep inside
I'll stick it deep inside
Cause I'm loose
I feel fine to be dancin', baby
I feel fine, I'm a shakin' leaf
I feel fine to be dancin', baby
Cause it's love, yeah I do believe
I'll stick it deep inside
I'll stick it deep inside
Cause I'm loose
And I'll stick it deep inside
And I'll stick it hey
Well I'm loose, well I'm loose
Well I'm loose

Accept: Balls To The Wall

Too many slaves in this world
Die by torture and pain
Too many people do not see
Theyre killing themselves - going insane

Too many people do not know
Bondage is over the human race
They believe slaves always lose
And this fear keeps them down

Watch the damned (God bless ya)
Theyre gonna break their chains (hey)
No, you cant stop them (God bless ya)
Theyre coming to get you
And then youll get your

Balls to the wall, man
Balls to the wall
Youll get your balls to the wall, man
Balls to the wall - balls to the wall

You may screw their brains
You may sacrifice them, too
You may mortify their flesh
You may rape them all

One day the tortured stand up
And revolt against the evil
They make you drink your blood
And tear yourself to pieces

You better watch the damned (God bless ya)
Theyre gonna break their chains (hey)
No, you cant stop them (God bless ya)
Theyre coming to get you
And then youll get your

Balls to the wall, man
Balls to the wall
Youll get your balls to the wall, man
Balls to the wall - balls to the wall

Come on man, lets stand up all over the world
Lets plug a bomb in everyones arse
If they dont keep us alive - were gonna fight for the right

Build a wall with the bodies of the dead - and youre saved
Make the world scared - come on, show me the sign of victory
Sign of victory - sign of victory

You better watch the damned (God bless ya)
Theyre gonna break their chains (hey)
No, you cant stop them (God bless ya)
Theyre coming to get you
And then youll get your

Balls to the wall, man
Balls to the wall

I wish they'd mix up their song structures into a wider variety as almost all their stuff follows the same basic formula....but those riffs are sooo cool anyways.

And , once you learn it it's fun to scream along in German. :)

I suggest FNM's album, "King for a Day, Fool for a Lifetime"especially if you're angry AND bitter. :)

And Joe Jackson Band's first album, "Look Sharp" is fast, fun, and sarcastic if nothing else. Great song writing too.

Still as accurate today as it was 15+ years ago. Sad, ain't it?

Others:
KMFDM - Hau Ruck album written about Herr Bush, but just about anything.
Nine Inch Nails - Too obvious?
Headcrash - Wake Up (mp3fiesta has this for a buck)

80. Quite the following for Rage Against the Machine.
My area (Philly and metro) has kind of held up its collective middle finger at RATM because of its support of a convicted cop killer. A Philly cop was shot and killed several years ago; and apparently RATM has been financially supporting the appeals process of his killer.

But, I have some serious rough times ahead....so I think I will bite the bullet and get me some RATM.

Thanks.

83. Well, I think the issue is that Mr. Abu-Jamal (apparently) wasn't given a fair trial.
Whether he's guilty or innocent, I have no idea, but he does have a lot of supporters who think he should be at least re-tried.

82. I listened to that last night, actually.
Just made everything worse for me. :(

Then I tried to listen to "Goodbye to You" by Scandal (?) and "Harden my Heart" by Quarterflash - but that was a REALLY bad idea. I'm hardly in "acceptance" mode right now.

Extreme metal. I refuse to grow up but these guys and gals in this genre are very talented! The latest group to get a lot of play is Meshuggah from Sweden.

Edited on Wed Jun-11-08 06:30 PM by sniffa
Especially, Prison Song, Deer Dance, and X for their content, as much as their energy. I also love a good Sugar even though that makes me happy, and has nothing to do with this thread.

I haven't tried Minor Threat for angry time, but I can just picture that going well together. :D

97. I have a different view of it
1. That was the song that introduced me to the band.

2. My college/first few months post graduation job required hours of driving for every job, and that song was being played to death at the time. I got to know the words and everything.

KJ have been a huge influence on modern music, from metal to industrial to post-punk. Their sound has been described as "the sound of the earth vomiting".
