What do you think of men in sarongs(pareo)?
'cause I kind of want one (or several).

You have no idea how hard it is to find a picture of men wearing sarongs which isn't blatantly sexy, worn incorrectly (or the garment isn't a sarong), or doesn't contain other articles of ethnic clothing (because I want to be clear which garment I'm referring to.)

3. Yes?
No...probably not. I'd probably wear it $with ironic tee shirts; around the house mostly, poolside, or for around town.

Something tells me it's a work no-go. I find that sexist as women can wear a skirt but I have to wear pants.

Edited to add - sarongs would be more comfortable for hot temperatures and for relaxing.

9. I already own a dress kilt.
It's not great for lounging around, poolside or living in. It's just a little too warm.

13. She has bee's knees, I have knobby logs.
Funny that you mention it though...I'm still trying to plan a first meet and she's not helpful.

I waited for her to be available once her school year was over. I can't get any sort of input out of her...I'm not asking her to plan anything even. I just need some input from her including if she'd rather do lunch or dinner or beverages; if she'd rather meet someplace in the middle, I'd come to her or she could come to me (We live quite a ways apart); or when she's even free.

All I get is "My last day is Monday if you want to something after then." I feel like I'm target-shooting blind. If I put forth a suggestion she doesn't like I get silence as opposed to actual feedback. I almost no longer want to meet her. Our conversations have stalled too. She's becoming less interesting since she no longer wants to converse.

Am I just being an idiot? My female friends think she wants me to take total control and make all the decisions unilaterally...but I've never been less than transparent about the fact that I'm not that person. I do things by cooperation and teamwork based on input, I like equality, I don't dig roles...especially leadership.

17. Wow.
I don't think you're being an idiot. Not at all. But I think there comes a time when (sorry, I'm going to use a horrible cliche so don't cringe) you have to fish or cut bait. It sounds to me as though one of three things might be going on. She either thinks coy is cute, she is super shy, or she just doesn't want to meet you. Given the fact that the conversations are cooling, it just might be that she doesn't want to actually meet you - that the potential of you is more comfortable than the physical you, if that makes sense. I think it's easy to be swept up in the idea of a thing and then freak out when the reality of that thing actually presents itself. And if that's the case, maybe it's time to cut bait. There are plenty more interesting humans on the planet who have bee's knees, right?

I'm sorry it's not working out. But being hopeful at that early stage isn't idiocy. Try fifteen years of hopeful on for size and then we can discuss idiocy. :eyes: It's not pretty at all. Trust me.

Do what you feel is right, right? :)

18. I know what happens to men in sarongs.
One of my former boyfriends, who is a rather large man of Scandinavian descent, told me this:

He had acquired a sarong while living in Africa and teaching college in Ethiopia. One morning he took out the trash wearing a sarong, and, I presume, no shirt. His neighbor called the cops on him.

This was in Texas.
