CONFESS! Lounge ladies "of a certain age"--ever crush on someone younger?
Oh halp halp please I feel like a total pev. I am an old phart, yet I have developed a silly crush on a guy (not IRL, thank goodness--an actor) young enough to be my son (for real, not "if I gave birth when I was 13" kind of thing), probably because in my head I'm still 16 or thereabouts.

Please, Lounge ladies, share your cradle-robbing crushes and reassure me I'm not alone in this shameful situation! It'll make me feel better. Please?

1. Hell, I've done that in real life
Had a fine, hot, smokin' good time over one summer with a lad of 22. I was 38. No regrets. It's just a number.

I was 18. Like I said, just a number. It's what's inside that counts. :hi:

12. The cheesy thing with this is he's an actor!
I thought my teenybopper TV crush days were over. Apparently not...UGH!

Well, at least I'm not chasing younger guys (or older guys or in-between guys) IRL. Mr. MG might have something to say about that! :hi:

3. My dear MorningGlow...
Oh yes...

He was quite a lot younger...more than a decade!

But he was wise beyond his years...

Very sexy, attractive, and smart...

In every way except age (which is just a number) he was older...

You are definitely not alone here, sweetie!

45. He's better "in action"
Acting on the SHOW! Gitcher mind out of the gutter! :spank:

He's very charming--VERY--his Q rating must be through the roof. And he gives quite a nuanced performance in a series that's hardly "War and Peace"--his character is the Pied Piper of the partying fraternity, so he gets to be very clever and funny and crazy (and, often, drunk), yet he gets to pine for the female lead so very exquisitely. Plus he's the lead singer in a band IRL. What's not to love?

the rest have been younger. The youngest I have ever dated was 18 years my junior. I never lied about my age, so there were no secrets there. Had a great time, no regrets.

Edited on Thu Jun-19-08 10:55 AM by Bullwinkle925
but, I certainly can appreciate the cuteness/sexiness of any guy I see - no matter the age. Of course I mean 21 and above, that is.
The other day, my daughter and I were in my local favorite coffee house when a younger man came in. I said - "Hey - that guy is sure cute". My (31 yr. old) daughter looked and said - "Good grief - he's young. Probably not more than 23-24 tops".

That was too young for a 31 yr. old? Where does that leave me? Lascivious?

Good grief.

28. Yeah, I think that's it
I just love watching the guy on his TV show. He's got a lovely spark (plus he's cute).

I think the age gap actually narrows as you get older. I mean, when I was 21, a guy who was 18 liked me, but I refused to date him because I thought he was too young. Can you believe it? Honestly, I really missed out on that one :smackshead:, but that was where my head was at, at the time. I think as you get older age ceases to matter so much.

Or we could just be pevs. :P

9. Years ago I taught at a small private school with a
very close knit faculty. Everyone was friendly and we all hung out together on Friday nights. The man who taught 6th grade, Tom, was young, impossibly good looking, and came from a wealthy family. The third grade teacher, a 60-ish long-married (to a much older man) woman once confided in me that she thought Tom was "the sexiest man (she'd) ever seen" and she thought about him all the time.

59. The average age of my dates lately has been 5 years younger than me.
I'm only 28 so that means a median age of 23 (one was 18 and she pursued me.). If you're shameful then I'm shameful for dating a girl young enough to be in third grade when I graduated HS and I don't feel shame.

I tend to be a young 28 though...all my friends are 18-25. I do mean all of them too. Nature of my job. People don't believe me about my age. I'm baby-faced to boot.

My cousin works for Trading Spaces. I've met Carter several times and hung out with him. He looks just like that IRL. He doesn't look real. I actually don't find him attractive IRL because he's TOO pretty, heh. He doesn't have any physical flaws, it's almost creepy. But he is the nicest guy, just the nicest guy you'd ever want to meet, and super cool with fans who approach him. Not too bright, though. :)

Seriously, it's so great to hear that a person on TV or in the movies or in the music biz is actually nice.

I'm zoooo jealous! :hi:

77. He comes across very nice
and kind of savant-y, where his only and area of brilliance is carpentry. But that's the cool thing about a crush from far away, it's a fantasy, without that pesky reality (cute but dumb) intruding!

But look at it this way: cute, dumb, AND can remodel your kitchen. Who needs a brain with all that????

71. He was twenty-seven, a body-builder, with
a brain the size of a walnut and a face that belonged on an angel.

I was forty-two and completely without scruples.

It was a fabulous summer.

73. Now THAT is a great teaser for a trashy novel!
I strongly suggest you write that up, with lots of heaving bosoms etc.!

76. The problem with middle-aged men is they're totally set in their ways...
it's pretty hard to nudge them from their rut. You wanna go out, they wanna sit at home with the remote and a six-pack. (cool some of the time, but not consistently for the nex 35 years!) But even more so, guys my age still have some subconscious idea of Woman as June Cleaver or Woman as Marilyn Chambers, but not the same woman being both.

And certainly never seeing Woman as possibly smarter, stronger, more successful than they are.

Younger guys grew up post 70s feminism, and they have early memories of their mothers working, expressing their opinions, and once they got older, women calling the shots sexually. It's still hard for a lot of middle-aged guys to accept women without compartmentalising us.

82. Oh yeah...even went beyond a crush
into a relationship. He was 12 years my junior; a fun and very buff carpenter and musician.

Only lasted three months, but I had a lot of fun during that time...

84. One summer I acted in community theater and my "love interest" was 17 years
younger than I was. I developed a temporary physical crush on him, but it passed after a couple of days.
