Why are the people who run Volvo so fucking stupid?

I saw two Volvo commercials tonight: One for the XC90 (SUV, V-8 engine), and one for the S80 (large sedan, V-8 engine).

Uh, guys? Heard of $4.00 gasoline?

Why the FUCK Volvo is not spending its money promoting their new C30 is WAY beyond me.

Gee, let's see what we have here: The C30 is new, it's a hot hatchback, it's (relatively) inexpensive, stylish as all getout...good God, a Volvo that's actually COOL!

And it gets damn good mileage. Hey, Volvo executives! Who buys cars like the C30? Who the HELL do you think Honda sells all those Civics to? YOUNG PEOPLE, THAT'S WHO, YOU KNUCKLEHEADS!

And when those young people who buy the Civics eventually have a family and need a family car, what are they inclined to buy?

DING DING DING, we have a winnah! They buy an ACCORD.

You want to sell a whole honkin' bunch of S60s and S80s five years from now? Sell a bunch of C30s NOW.

Ah, but what the hell do I know? I've only been doing marketing for living for, oh, 28 years now.
