Awkward/embarassing question
How do you get rid of hickeys? Or at least cover them up?

Because I have quite a few... and I'm going to my grandmother's tomorrow. And, it being summer, turtlenecks are not an option.

Yeah. I said it was awkward.

1. It's a bruise, so you can't really get rid of it.
Oil based concealer works better than water-based for dark marks. Hit the makeup counter at a high end department store and prepare to spend a fair amount for something that works.

2. If it's fresh...
Ice. Or put a spoon in the freezer, take it out when it's frozen, apply back of spoon to awkward/embarrassing mark. ;)

3. you need to go to the ever popular Walgreen's or Cvs and pick up some heavy duty concealer
sometimes they have the stuff that you can cover up spider veins with. Apply it in layers so you don't overdo it and draw attention to it.

4. Wear a thin scarf around your neck and say you feel a little
sick today so you have to have a handkerchief near you.

5. Lightweight batik scarf.
It has the added benefit of making you look like an adventurer. Adventures are fun...so are things leading to hickeys. It kind of fits.

6. Be like my daughter and be proud!
I'm sort of kidding...

I don't think you can do anything but ice it if it's new, and cover it up if it's 24 hours old. I'm sorta happy for you, if you are.

9. I was drunk one night
And I gave my boyfriend a deep, dark, big, purple hickey.I felt so terrible that next day that I cried. There really is no remedy for a hickey but time....

10. Why cry?
That shit is a badge of honor. I've had those...I even wore light-colored crew neck tees so I could show it off.

13. Oh, I don't know
I always thought a hickey was for more of the younger crowd. My parents saw the hickey and that made me feel terrible.

11. You can get a could cheap concealer
It's for acne and other blemishes but can hide other things too. Just make sure it matches your skin tone. Or you could just say "Hey, grandma, I'm a big girl now and I do make out"

Khash.

I used to get (and give) those massive dark purple ones that turned hard as a rock.. anyways, makeup is the only thing that ever really worked for me.

hickeys. Even when I was younger and I was a wild child. Making out is fine but sucking on someone's skin to produce a bruise?

16. I'm Sure Your Grandmother Has Seen A Hickey Before
She'll probably just waggle her finger at you and laugh. She was young once.

18. You can get very lightweight sleeveless turtlenecks...or a scarf
is a nice option.
I've heard green makeup covers up bruises, and then you can use foundation over that to blend it in...
