2. Netflix carries them
We're up to season 5 almost.
Best series I've EVER watched - either here or in the UK.

can't get netflix. I wonder if Amazon Unbox has this series, I am going to go check. BRB. edit: nope, my only hope is Netflix, to plow through series 4& 5 while I am home for 2 weeks in the States.

In the meantime I gave BBC America a piece of my mind. http://www.bbcamerica.com/contactus.jsp  :grr: :nuke:

4. I'm going to go through Netflix too...
but as I'm on the two DVD a month plan, it will take me a while to catch up. Argh... I hate BBC America. It's almost exclusively the Gordon Ramsay Channel now. :P

Honestly, I'm sick to the back teeth of Gordon Fucking Ramsey.

One thing though is there anyway to get BBC America to show more that the same six Kitchen Nightmares over and over again... I'm pretty sure they made others.

7. Honestly, when I moved back from the UK, I was delighted...

...to see I could get BBC programming in the US. It didn't take me long, however, to realize that, for some reason, BBC America consistently picks the worst BBC shows to broadcast. And they only have about three episodes at a time, so even the good shows are repeated over and over again. I'm a fan of Top Gear, but even I refuse to watch the same four episodes more than six times in a row.

8. I really think the BBC believes Americans are stupid
Look what they replaced MI-5 with this week, for example:

8pm: Britian's WORST TEETH -- oh yeah that's a real audience draw :eyes:
9pm: Prince Charles and Prince William, Royal Rivals? another :boring: show

9. I couldn't believe it when I saw that "worst teeth" thing.
It's like one of those spoof TV shows Homer watches in "The Simpsons." If I was still paying for a TV license in the UK, I'd be incensed they're wasting my money on this crap.

13. I wouldn't mind if they aired it on PBS at least
but it seems like PBS is now only showing BBC period movies (which I like, but they could add some contemporary shows) and really old sitcoms.

14. It's because of the legal situation
BBC America is a subsidiary of BBC Worldwide a commercial for-profit company. The BBC in the UK is a non-commercial company. Due to pressure from commercial rivals, the publicly-funded BBC cannot subsidise its commercial arms with its array of programming. BBC America is treated like a separate entity and must pay full market price for BBC programming and compete for rights with other non-UK broadcasters for BBC programming.

This why BBC America puts a lot of fluff in its schedules, so it can save money to buy the rights to the occasionally worthy BBC show.

11. The plot lines are timely
the suspense is amazing, and the acting is not half bad either. Let's just say, many shows rest on the laurels of their "regular" cast for 6 seasons, this isn't one of them.

12. The acting is generally really good
and the shows are written really well, great dialogue for this type of show (at least in comparison to something like 24). Season 1 was really good, you should check it out.
