2. My sons last day was June 11th. He goes back Aug 26th.
Maybe I should send him to school in England? They're still in school until middle-late July and then are only off until 1st week September - 6 weeks off (that's what I got). My son gets 11 weeks.
...and yes I know that was a Saturday. It wasn't a typo we went to school for two hours on Saturday. Want to know what beats that for not being well thought out? Our first day back is another two hour day on August 1. The first day of school being on a Friday may be unusual but it doesn't measure up to the last day being on a Saturday does it. Here is the not well thought out part. The second day of school is August 11.
4. Mine go back right after labor day. They've been out for 50+ months.
Well, it feels like it. I think it's actually been about three weeks. I'm full of crap- my kids have been really good so far, and my youngest spends his mornings in summer session. I really can't complain.
The rest of the county schools ended June 6th but her school ended a day early due to impending construction. The county school go back on August 25th, but her school starts the 26th, again due to the construction. What I want to know is what good do 2 days do with a construction project?
Teachers go back Aug. 19. The reason for us.... we have to have so many inservice days so we can earn continuning education credits that are required by the state. And the snow days are now built in to the schedule, instead of being tacked on at the end.
I doubt that we will ever go back to a September start because of those reasons.
