Chris has liked to line up his toy cars since he was physically able to do so. Long straight lines of cars, trucks, Thomas engines and the like would appear while we weren't watching. Then he started to branch out - six cars all facing out in a star pattern, Troublesome Trucks in neat rank and file. (He also then plays Godzilla and takes great joy in crunching everything up, so no, I'm not worried about autism. :) )
I started messing with him a little this week. After I take him to school in the mornings, I've started putting his cars in groups by color, function, what have you. He noticed right off the first day when we got home, and stood in the living room with this smile on his face like, "You play with my toys when I'm gone? That's kind of funny, Daddy". Now he asks me if I'm going to do it and what I'm going to do.
Today, I built a city of sorts.
Superheroes in the Sodor parking lot...
Atlanta traffic has been this bad since the Jurassic.
Not pictured are "Dora y Diego Land" and a smash-up area being cleaned up by some bulldozers. I'm interested to see what he makes of it, or if it'll be too much...
