WTF? This does NOT make sense.

So despite me upping my interferon dosages AND me actually feeling better, I went to the hematologist this morning and discovered that not only have my platelets not gone down, they actually went back UP! I'm near that dangerous number of 1500 where the bleeding risk becomes very real again (1452). Time to get in contact with the Mayo doc..I'm thinking its time to up the interferon again..although my hematologist wants me to go back on the chemo drug (effective but nasty). Ick, pooey!
It sucks bad enough to have a rare, chronic disease...but even worse to have a disease that is NOT well understood even by the specialists!

He wants me on BOTH medications (interferon and the chemo drug Hydrea) until I work up to the full dose of interferon...:scared:

I just started on Methotrexate today for my Arthritis...
