Does anyone here use Freecycle?
I've checked it out a few times, but it seems a little bit cumbersome, so I just put free stuff on craigslist, which seems more stramlined to me.

Does anyone else have this experience or am I all alone?

1. I use it.
I live in a rural area, and it seems a lot more people use freecycle around this part than Craigslist.

2. I use it.
It's useful for getting rid of old junk that I don't want anymore, but I've never gotten any of the things that I've asked for. Probably because all I ask for are obscure books that no one's ever heard of.

3. I use it and love it
I live in the SF Bay Area, which is Ground Zero for craigslist, so the freecycle lists here tend to be very localized. Stuff goes within hours.

4. I use it. I get rid of a lot of junk just gathering dust
and get a lot of good stuff that is other people's junk.

5. I browsed it a couple times, but you're right.
It did seem cumbersome.

I live in an apartment community, so if I'm getting rid of something, I usually place it by the dumpster. It's usually gone within minutes.

6. I love it, except for the second-grade level literacy of America that it reveals.
But, man, if you have odd shit or broken crap you want to get rid of, freecycle is the way to go.

Most stuff I give away, even the broken stuff (that I say is broken) is gone within hours.

7. I've used it once
and I know I need to use it some more. I have too much stuff! I also need to find someone to take the broken things, like all the VCRs, TVs, and stereo equipment acting as dust-collectors at the moment...

But I was able to give away a 4x5 Wacom graphics tablet I couldn't use anymore (the stylus needed replacing.) I never heard back from the young woman that took it, so I assume she was able to get a replacement stylus from Wacom :)

8. I've used it a few times
I gave away a video game and I let people know when the local nursing home throws out wheelchairs.

I've asked for, and received, fruit-bearing banana trees (time will tell if that's what they really are).

They seem to have a lot of rules. Seems you can hardly post without the admin telling you it should have been posted differently.

9. I use it
I've gotten rid of a lot of stuff both for myself and for my clients. I can't see to get rid of the damned skis, though. And I've gotten a few things I wanted. Lately, people with an overage of vegetable plants have been giving them away. I got a couple of tomatoes that way.

Craig's list is SF based, so in the Napa Valley, it doesn't work well for me.
