5. Do you like it?
My dual-core AMD system is the first computer that I didn't think was awful.

3. I'm an AMD fanboy.
Work laptop has Intel, and I can't fault it at all, though.

7. Right now? Fried.
I blew up my home PC. It was the Athlon 6400. I'm looking at the mid-level Phenom 9500 right now, BUT I've gotten some advice here that has me looking for another chip ending in 50.

8. Yeah...
A 9750 at 2.4 Ghz per core is a very good value.

Find a nice AM2+ MB and BAM, you are good.

9. Current machine is Intel Core 2 Duo.
I can't fault it. It's reasonably zippy even with that giant waste of space, computing power and electrons generally that is Vista.

12. Hehe
Vista sucks.

I use XP Pro 64 and will move to "Windows 7" when it is deloused.

I will NEVER use Vista.

15. My old laptop died suddenly, I needed on ASAP.
I just haven't got around to upgrading from Vista to XP yet. It's either that or drop in more memory and cope.

19. I like the cool transparent backgrounds, but I haven't found anything else XP doesn't do
at least as well. And the first thing I did was turn all the "did you really mean to do that?" nagging off, because really, I'm not an idiot, I can manage my own security issues, and the pestering was bad for my blood pressure.

20. Been running AMD processors ever since the Intel Pentium III spyware scandal
Bad enough that shit's all over the net. I won't have it in my CPU.

Never had any problems with AMD, running either Windows or Linux.
