http://www.cityofukiah.com It's a bit of a war zone here with all the fires. Huge choppers traversing the skies with water dumps the air filled with smoke. Other dump craft departing the airstrip here on very tight cycles. My brother is a firefighter, and I've never seen so many units from such far flung locales in one area. We've been speaking with some here at the hotel. Young 17-ish volunteers and older seasoned dudes.
Roseville (someone tell cboy) and Sacramento are represented here, we just ate with some at, and yes don't trip; but Applebee's!
Restaurant
filled with fighters signing company provided log sheets slipped under their noses by Applebee's personnel for their meals and liquids. Surely accommodations as well in that every hotel here is filled with tanker and search & rescue units just now coming off the lines. So you know the process is well accounted for and I say for all they do? God Bless Them!! You have to know they are tired too.
These people are truly amazing! True heroes! Still...
Amazing to see people whining they can't be seated due to all the activity. Some little kid actually cried cause he wasn't able to eat when he thought he needed to :( A transgression my Dad would have persuaded me out of the restaurant by the elbow and explained in greater detail elsewhere.
Maybe more later, but we should be home by then...this is bridgit signing off, "Peace!"
ps: oh, and tacky, blousey old already drunk broads at the bar martini after martini ogling the, ahem, firefighting produce so as to suggest. will some chicks never grow up? eh screw it, maybe everybody, even blousey old drunk broads need to get lucky from time to time
