(I'm in Boston), and laid down this incredibly beautiful, driving solo to one of my tunes (I'm not a jammer, tho I can, I more like to add solos to add somethin to the tune:) Will have mp3 up in a coupla weeks, nothing like music to keep you humble;)

The Year: 1983. The Place: Orchestra Hall. The Event: Tryouts for the Fort Worth Youth orchestra.

After playing the neccesary dorian scales and other music theory sundries, this cool-headed (now ex-)Bass Clarinet player wowed the judges with "The Russian Sailor's Dance".

It's not patting myself on the back to say that I became first chair bass clarinetist because there were only about 4 bass clarinetists in the entire region...

Sheesh...I'm getting old.

Edited after realizing the full potential of the question...lol
