Journey to the Center of the Earth
Ok, there's no way this remake with Brendan Fraser is going to be any good is there?

I'm looking for a movie to take my 12 year old son too on Sunday which is going to be very hot and sticky here with a good chance of T-Storms. So we need a cool indoor activity.

And I don't think the Dark Knight is appropriate, just a bit to dark and violent.

And we've seen Wall-E (great movie by the way)

1. It's good for kids.
The nephew is played by the same kid from "tarabithia". Both my kids loved the movie. Both my kids loved "journey to the centre of the earth"...but they are 10 and 11 years old.
I thought is OK.

2. I'm a little shelfish
I like to pick kids movies that are at least tolerable to sit through for adults - I'm pretty liberal with that requirment there've been only one or two kid friendly movies I haven't enjoyed at least in part so far - but how was this one for you to sit through?

3. I was a little disapointed
I liked the actors. They all did good jobs. The special effects were good. The plot was interesting, though not original. The script seemed like a cut a paste job. On a scale of 1-10 i give it a 6. I liked it enough to sit thru it without feeling dirty. The saving grace was the performances....

6. The boy in the film is played by Josh Hutcherson
He has been in several other movies, Kicking and Screaming, Little Manhattan, Firehouse Dog, etc. All of those movies were well received by nephews and nieces. I haven't seen Journey to the Center of the Earth. But friends of mine took their kids to see it, age range 11-14 and they all loved it.
