21. They've moved some of the Rijksmuseum paintings there for display...

...while remodeling work continues at the Rijksmuseum.

I couldn't imagine a US museum doing that, or a US airport devoting space to it.

13. Wonderful picture!

Two years ago my wife and I were walking along a canal 7 or 8 canals west of the Red Light District at about 2 in the afternoon (could have been the scene in your photo). All of a sudden there's a row of female butts in thongs advertising themselves in first floor windows. Obviously the RLD had seriously outgrown its historic boundaries. What's really funny is that there was a cable repairman fixing something right outside one of the windows. We laughed when we saw that he was less than nonplussed about the whole thing. Amsterdam, truly one of the best cities in Europe.
