Got a funny nickname?
I play in a good number of bands with my sweet, sweet trombone skills. One of the bandleaders I work with is obsessed with giving people nicknames. Long story short, my new moniker is 'Hot Rain'. Don't ask me why. I wanted to be called 'Sexual Vanilla'.

7. Love button!
Nice. We need one of those in the band. So far, we have "Dr. White", "Loafah", "Sweet Treats" (aka Baron Von Jovi), "Sassy Nipples", "Slim Money", and of course, "Hot Rain". But no Love Button. The problem is, you can't name yourself hence the denial of my submission as Sexual Vanilla. I guess that's one of the rules.

All based around a pipe organ. Kind of neat.

3. Yes. My nick as Lil Missy.
It started as a source of irritation with a previous co-worker. When she got ticked at me, she'd call me Lil Missy.

It eventually became a joke within the department.

4. Mine is Butch. Got it at birth.
Way back in 1941 it was the fashion to call little boys 'Butch'.
After the obstetrics nurse had cleaned me up, she brought me in to my mother and said "Here's your little Butch."
It stuck.

Kinda handy, though.
When someone calls and asks for me by my first name, I know it's a telemarketer. Nobody calls me by my first name.

5. I've had some odd ones
My little sister calls me "Shoe", one of my old bosses dubbed me "Miss ELISA" (after the bioassay I specialize in) but I think my current fave is one I got here..turtlezoot...In fact..If we get the opportunity to change screeennames, I might go with that one..:)

6. Chan...
Not my real name. It is what I'm changing my middle name to legally though. (Actually "Channing" because "Chan" sounds too colloquial...like "Jimmy" or "Dick")

It started in college...without getting into too much detail it involves someone in a porno named Chan who had the same shirt as me. The video was sent around after that, kind of a viral joke, and I got a nickname because some costumer for Vivid has the same taste in Hawaiian shirts that I do.

8. Some funny ones I've known.
Mullet.
He didn't have the haircut.
He liked mullet fishing.

Nub.
Lost his right arm at the elbow in a childhood accident.
Seriously.

And, though not a nickname, Radio Johnson.
Radio was all the rage when he was born, so that's what his parents named him.
Good thing he wasn't born during the Hoola-Hoop era, I guess.
;-)

I seem to be one of those persons to whom nicknames rarely adhere.

But, I've been known as:

"Hitman"

"The Truth", or simply "Truth"

"Hill Dog", and

"Drunken Time Master"

12. Hm. "Boneybutt" as a kid, because it was uncomfortable for
my parents, or sisters, to have me sit on their lap because I was so skinny and squirmed all the time.

"Dirthead" in high school, because I was anything but - I was really straightlaced.

"Sam" - not sure why, but it stuck.

:hi:

17. All my friends from high school that I still keep in contact with call me Smitty
which is about 5 people these days, I think it started out as the elaborate "The Right Reverend Smitty Funbags" and was eventually shortened to Smitty. I'll be dammed if I can remember how that all started but it really stuck all these years later.

My best friend and college roommate calls me "Sloppy-ho" sometimes which evolved from a drunken slurring of my last name one night our Junior year.

But that's really all of my nicknames

18. Happy fun ball
Gotten when I was a peppy, bouncy, angry punkteen. Only a couple people remember it or call me it anymore, but just when I think it's dead, someone comes back to town and resurrects it!
