9. ALF? Way to get on a "special list" man.
I know what you mean, though, and I loved that show.

Had a big stuffed Alf seatbelted into the front seat of my Z28 junior year of high school.

11. Absolutely.
He ate cats (or tried to). He was always hankering for some "calico pie". :puke:

Nearly all Loungers love cats. Cats good. ALF bad.

12. I used to have a parishioner with a bunch of health problems, who loved ALF.
Edited on Mon Jul-21-08 05:56 PM by mycritters2
This man had been in a car accident which left him all kinds of internal problems--kidneys, digestive, etc--and had left him a paraplegic. He had been a salesman for an ag equipment company, but was left unable to work. He lived with his parents and ALF was the one great joy in his life. He was the kindest gentlemen, someone I really enjoyed visiting. He had a great sense of humor, in spite of his constant pain.

His family got a satellite dish, so he could ALF find re-runs at all kinds of hours. He had a big stuffed ALF that was on his bed or in his wheelchair at all times. I'm not sure why he was so fond of ALF, but he was.

In time, his kidneys failed. He had surgery and never recovered. When he died, his family placed the stuffed ALF in his casket. So, I can't think objectively about ALF. I wasn't a fan, but it brought joy to this one remarkable life. So, I'm grateful for ALF.

16. That's touching
Seriously, it was one of the last shows that had no agenda whatsoever. It was about a furry alien who was a wise cracker and had the same name as Sting.

The writer and creator of the show ended up addicted to heroin, and left the show after the second season. Ben Stiller played him brilliantly in "Permanent Midnight."
