Miles are a measure. If you can measure your value of that relationship and barter between the two, then the value is for naught.

I'd told myself that a long distance relationship will never happen again, and it may not, but I appreciate the feedback.

but it's NOT too far to travel to SEE if the potential is there for a relationship. :) It takes a while for a relationship to grow IMHO. Distance means very little these days. My husband and I were in different countries and cultivated our relationship. We married after 2 years. We celebrated 8 years this past March.

My girlfriend and I have been together for three years, and have lived in the same place for only about a year of that (not counting month-long visits). Most of the time we've lived in different countries. I won't lie to you that the further away we've been, the harder it's been. Right now we're only one time zone apart, but still not close enough for visiting to not involve expensive flights. Starting in septermber we'll be 8 time zones apart, and that's going to suck. We just try to see each other as much as possible and keep in touch.

Just sayin...

I made the mistake once of thinking that it was too far (and other complications).
It was the biggest mistake of my life. At least try it if you feel strongly about this person.
