I am so ashamed... I am a gossipmonger
ugh I hate to admit... but I love gossip and I hate myself for it.

Not celebrity gossip (that's all fake anyways) but everyday stuff... I don't even spread as much as love to listen to it. And it needs to stop... it has impacted my work, friends and family life - I know better... I love reality shows (like project Runway or top chef - not the bachelor or big brother type shows). Whenever I see deleted messages or calling out of DUers I am dying to know ..ooooh what happened.

It usually starts off innocently enough (as all addictions do) a co-worker comes over to vent or I approach a family member to vent - you know air frustrations that aren't a big deal, but want to get off chest and get perspective

that's when it all goes downhill from there.

All the armchair psychologists can say its a need to be the center of attention - I agree to some extent, or that I am not interesting enough to talk about myself so I talk about others ... but at the end of the day I need to remember that if you don't have anything nice to say... start an anonymous blog.

But when does listening or talking to a co-worker about how to handle an issue (maybe its how to address a work mate with poor hygiene, or poor work habits or feeling frustrated about an upcoming project) become gossip. I don't mean starting rumors or name calling - just the usual stuff.

I need willpower.. but dammit... oooh is that a flamewar I see in GD.... brb
