Computer Illiterate asks how to make a document searchable for words and tagged categories later on?

Would someone please point me in the right direction for more info or give me the appropriate terms for what I want to do so it's possible to get the needed instructions?

I want to make a document listing all my perfumes by name and notes (components).

Later on, I'd like to be able to search through all those entries to find all perfumes that contain note x or y or z.

Also, how to add tags to each entered perfume so I can then search through the whole list for tags such as scent category?

1. It sounds like you need a searchable database.

You can download Open Office suite for free and give Open Office Base a shot. If it doesn't work out, at least you haven't invested any money.
