Edited on Sun Aug-03-08 01:00 AM by Ava
for me it's fox and the hound. every time i see that scene where she has to leave todd in the forrest i cry. then i feel like a goofball for crying, lol. the scene in tarzan when he has to leave his family and the phil collins song starts playing got me teary eyed. ET still makes me choke up.... charlotte's web(the animated one) and the jungle book(bittersweet ending). :(

I'd have a harder time finding ones that don't make me cry.

Just the other day my kid was watching Cars, and I turned into a blubbering idiot when Lightning gave up the Piston Cup to help The King.

and that song by Mary-Chapin Carpenter is probably what sends me over (although it's when it's played at the end that gets to me rather than the beginning):

67. i discovered the movie because i am a big Mary Chapin Carpenter fan
flipping the channels one day I heard her unmistakable voice and stumbled onto the movie, so i made a point to go back to it and watch it all the way through (it looked like a great story).

i was not disappointed.

ET is another tear-jerker for me. love that movie. :applause:

35. I love 10,000 Miles, it's perfect for that movie
Fare thee well
My own true love
Farewell for a while
I’m going away
But I’ll be back
Though I go 10,000 miles

10,000 miles
My own true love
10,000 miles or more
The rocks may melt
And the seas may burn
If I should not return

Oh don’t you see
That lonesome dove
Sitting on an ivy tree
She’s weeping for
Her own true love
As I shall weep for mine

Oh come ye back
My own true love
And stay a while with me
If I had a friend
All on this earth
You’ve been a friend to me

15. It's a source of derision around my house that I still cry at "How The Grinch Stole Christmas."
The animated Chuck Jones version, of course.

I always tear up at: "...and what happened then?...well, in Whoville they say that the Grinch's small heart grew three sizes that day..."

And his face lights up with happiness for the first time in his life. That always gets me. I'm a nearly 40-year-old man, and I always cry during a Dr. Seuss cartoon...

20. BABE! I highly recommended it. It was up for an academy award
I don't know if it won but the scenery (that word that means scenery in movies....I can't remember it), is worth it.

It is part animation and part real. And the animals are real, (most of them). And they are amazing, especially Babe.

And it is a good movie to let kids watch too because it has a great message. I rarely buy movies and I bought this one.

I am a sucker for dog movies. The part at the end of "Homeward Bound" where the pets get home, and the older dog runs to his boy and says "I was so worried about you!" gets me crying every time.

Old Yeller (1957)

A boy brings a yellow dog home. The dog loves the family as much as they love ...

51. Pretty much all of them actually
I almost never cry at "adult" movies (exception: Million Dollar Baby), but pretty much any quality kids movie will get me.

Toy Story 2 (thanks SarahBelle, now I have puffy eyes), the end of Wall E (those of you who've seen the movie know what I'm talking about), Iron Giant, Finding Nemo, ET...

I think it's because kids movies are unafraid to deal with earnest, profound emotion in a non-cynical way.

61. My Dog Skip
I hate it when the dog gets hurt and even more when he dies at the end. We had a Jack Russell Terrier for a few years and we still don't know what made him so sick before he died. I was heartbroken when he died... I've never been so attached to a dog or had a better dog. I still cry when I think about him.

No matter what anyone says, those are the best dogs as long as you train them right. If you let them run the house, they'll be a terror... but if you know how to handle them, you'll never have a better dog. Of course, our family has five dachshund between the 3 my grandparents have, the one I have, and the one my mother has... and they are pretty great dogs themselves.
