Does anyone else use Skype?
Maybe I'm behind the times (mainly because I'm stuck in an office with no windows, limited internet, and a chalkboard filled with boring SONAR formula's) but I just got turned on to it. My mom is moving back to Europe so I researched VOIPs and found Skype. How cool is this shit? We talk to each other nightly, for free, with sound and video via our webcams. The audio quality is better than any phone I've ever used.

Yes, Skype is indispensable for our family. I love it!

3. I wish they'd release the 3 Skype mobile phone here
I looked at it online and I think it'd bring the American cellular industry to it's knees.

4. They currently have stand-alone skype phones....
...that work in wi-fi hotspots but I'm not sure if that would be practical for your use

5. For all the trouble
I think you're better off using the Skype Out function and dialing up using a landline or your cellphone's free minutes...

Word on the street is, The Sony PSP is Skype capable in the same way those wifi phones are. If this is the case, I think I'd rather have the PSP for the gaming function (even though I hear most games on it are complete shit).

6. The PSP seems worth considering
My wife loves hand held games and she loves talking with long distance relatives on the phone.

7. I love it.
I originally got it so my dad could call me for free, but since then I've put some money on my account so that I can make calls without getting off of my ass. It's much cheaper than my cell phone, too. (Most calls are just $0.021 per minute!)

well, my wife & daughter use it. my daughter takes Chinese lessons via skype with teachers based in china.
