What song lets us know how you are feeling right now.....
Edited on Thu Aug-07-08 07:38 PM by lost-in-nj
heres mine

 :hi:

Do you still drank whiskey
Can I buy you around
If nobody's sittin' here
Do you mind if I sit down

I was nervous when I saw you
I almost walked away
And now I can't believe
What I'm about to say

(Chorus)
These arms wanna hold you
These lips wanna kiss you
These eyes are glad to see you
Baby I miss you
Let's drive each other crazy
Like we did back then
Why don't we get together
And break each other's hearts again

Maybe I've had one too many
I don't wanna say too much
We both know the reasons
Why we didn't keep in touch
We know good for each other
Still its hard to let it go
I'm trying to be strong
But babe you gotta know

(Chorus)

And loving you should be the last thing on my mind
It feel so good to let you hurt me one more time

(Chorus)

crap because I am a Buffy and Angel freak

Just very moved by that song. Have you seen the film "Into the Wild"? The main character reminds me of my friend who died in November. I have been listening to the soundtrack today. It makes me smile even though the songs are intense and/or sad.

How are you lovey????

3. Hey Woody Guthrie where you?
By Leftover Salmon. Kind of tells the story about how thing are still the same as they were back in Woody's day. And how we need people to be speaking out about those same things....

Hey Woody guthrie where are ya
we can use you right now....

I cannot find it anywhere unfortunately.

8. Here is my version of the lyrics
Hey Woody Guthrie where are ya?
We can sure use ya once more
Hey Woody Guthrie where are ya?
The big dogs are back at the door.

A whole generation
Got no foundation

and then I have no idea. It is one great song.

5. Lines Around Your Eyes.
There are things about you that make me wanna scream and shout
There are things about you that make me wanna lock you out
But there's a little thing that drives me wild
Something that happens every time you smile
I can't get over the lines around your eyes

Lines around your eyes every time you smile
And the way you touch me darlin' just drives me wild
Sometimes I don't know what we're fightin' about
But that don't mean we can't work things out
Cause I love you darlin' and the lines around your eyes

I put my car in gear and I headed down Highway 10
I was leavin' here, I was never comin' back again
I got about as far as the Texas line
I still couldn't get you off of my mind
Cause I can't get over the lines around your eyes

Lines around your eyes every time you smile
And the way you touch me darlin' just drives me wild
Sometimes I don't know what we're fightin' about
But that don't mean we can't work things out
Cause I love you darlin' and the lines around your eyes

Cause I love you darlin' and the lines around your eyes

10. X
Unbunny - X

Tonight, I'm staring out the window
I've got Brian Eno on the stereo
And tonight, you're gonna be my widow
The only way to get you back
Is to get you dressed in black

'Cause I'm still a fraud. I'm still a fake
I'm self-absorbed and I don't talk straight
I'm full of shit. I'm full of lies.
I can't be trusted, but I'll let you try
I'm insincere, and I'll let you down
Burn all my bridges, jerk you around
And I am not honest, I'm way off track
You gave me chances, I gave them back
I guess you were right. I guess I was scared
But I'm too opaque to show if I care.
I'm quick to judge. I'm slow to change.
I'll talk about you when you're out of range.
I wish I was different. I wish I was good.
But, no one can save me and nobody should.
Afraid of decisions, afraid of love
Afraid of the future, all of the above.

I look for shortcuts when conflict arises
A sleight of hand, elaborate disguises
I lack respect. I lack intent.
I know that I'm careless, and I won't relent.
'Cause I can't relent.

Hear it on their myspace page.

16. I'm a little cranky....
This is what I'm listening to right now...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFgpAxom-eg

Oh the churchbells are ringin' in the schoolyard,
And we all went out those days
The bully said "Mick would you fancy a rumble?"
I said "Yes, it's time to play!"

Oh the nuns and the priests they grabbed their Rosaries
As they pulled our bodies apart
The bully said "Mick you lost the fight, but you've gained my respect!
You fight with so much heart!"

We're as stubborn as mules
With our blood on fire
When we ain't at Sunday mass
We'll look any man straight in his eyes and say
Kiss my Irish ass!
You better kiss my Irish ass!

Oh the husbands and wives, they had a neighborhood pack
They called the Mackeys white trash behind our backs (White Trash!)
I was way too young to understand that
But if I did, I'd given it right back

Oh me dad, he'd be drunk on the lawn,
Yelling and screaming like he do
But sometimes my old man felt what he was feeling,
Sometimes Mr. Mackey spoke the truth

We're as stubborn as mules
With our blood on fire
When we ain't at Sunday mass
We'll look any man straight in his eyes and say
Kiss my Irish ass!
You better kiss my Irish ass!

Oh me grandpa passed through Ellis Island,
From the greatest of the Motherlands
For he worked, provided for his family
He was a dedicated welding man
And he knew right from wrong like day and night,
He could whip any fool in a bareknuckle fight
He talked of country like he preached of God,
One hell of an Irishman!

We're as stubborn as mules
With our blood on fire
When we ain't at Sunday mass
We'll look any man straight in his eyes and say
Kiss my Irish ass!
You better kiss my Irish ass!

Oooohh, I'm of a distant relation to John Redman,
He was one of the greatest Irish Rebels of his day
One bastard to another, on down the line
And this is what my son will say:

We're as stubborn as mules
With our blood on fire
When we ain't at Sunday mass
We'll look any man straight in his eyes and say
Kiss my Irish ass!
We're as stubborn as mules
With our blood on fire
When we ain't at Sunday mass
We'll look any man straight in his eyes and say
Kiss my Irish ass!
You better kiss my Irish ass!

18. Underlying Depression - by Van Morrison
Underlying depression, have to crawl into my room
Underlying depression, don't want to know about the moon in June
Outside there's a cavalcade of clowns but they're bringing me down
With underlying depression

Underlying depression and it's starting in my backyard
Underlying depression, and these times ain't even so hard
Lord I was born with the blues and my blue suede shoes
And underlying depression

Underlying depression and there's just nowhere to turn
Underlying depression and things just seem to turn in on one
Sometimes I'm stuck in the corner just like Little Jack Horner
With underlying depression

Underlying depression and I just can't get it right
Underlying depression I've got to fight it with all of my might
Right now I don't want to be alone
Get my baby on the telephone,
Underlying depression

Have to make some concessions when everything is working right
Have to count my blessings, helps me make it through the night
I've got love in my life as well as trouble and strife
And underlying depression

Underlying depression, underlying depression, underlying depression
Ain't nothing but the blues
Underlying depression ain't nothing but the blues
Underlying depression, ain't nothing but the blues
Underlying depression

Cheer up you miserable fuck

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pSyuo2UL5Q

Ghosts, walk through the walls
They catch your rise and falls
Then sink back to sleeping, again
And dust, it settles on shelves
Will you shake me from myself
And tell me I'm alright?
And all the time on your own
The flowers have grown
Under your feet
And don't, don't you think that it's time
You said, "Hey, this one is mine"
Maybe do what you want to do?
'Cos you, well yo are no fun
And I'm so dumb
But please let us not be lonely, again
And you, you wear your mistakes
And I know mine
But please let us not be lonely, this time
Cheer up, you miserable fuck
This has gone on long enough
And I don't want to hear anymore
'Cos it you wait for the day
You find your thinking bends to straight
You'll be waiting for a long, long time
Oh you, well you are no fun
And I'm so dumb
But please let us not be lonely, again
And you, you wear your mistakes
And I know mine
But please let us not be lonely, this time
Well this house, it creaks in the night
When I turn out all the lights
There's nobody else around
And ghosts, they walk through the walls
They catch your rise and falls
And sink back to sleep, again
Oh you, well you are no fun
And I'm so dumb
But please let us not be lonely, this time

Take All The Sky You Need
from American Jukebox Fables
Ellis Paul

You turn a blue eye to me and you look right through me
You said define what you think freedom means... if you want freedom
We can wake up this lullaby town
Burn through every red light I found
Lift a dust cloud
Break the speed of sound...
you could break free

If you want to run I'll pack my suitcase
If you want to stay I'll make a front door key
And if you need space... to fly... free
Take all the sky you need

I stand on the rooftops; I look down on my story
And it swallows me
Beyond the horizon, the taillights, the glories,
Will you follow me?
(Freedom) I need to know who I am
(Freedom) I'm like a moth in your hand
(Sweet freedom) do I fly or stand?
Or fall on my knees?

If you want to run I'll pack my suitcase
If you want to stay I'll make a front door key
And if you need space... to fly... free
Take all the sky you need

Take all the sky you need

22. Stupid.
Sarah McLachlan http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-FzcODuqXiQ

Night lift up the shades
let in the brilliant light of morning
but steady there now
for I am weak and starving for mercy
sleep has left me alone
to carry the weight of unravelling where we went wrong
it's all I can do to hang on
to keep me from falling
into old familiar shoes

how stupid could I be
a simpleton could see
that you're no good for me
but you're the only one I see

love has made me a fool
it set me on fire and watched as I floundered
unable to speak
except to cry out and wait for your answer
but you come around in your time
speaking of fabulous places
create an oasis
dries up as soon as you're gone
you leave me here burning
in this desert without you

how stupid could I be
a simpleton could see
that you're no good for me
but you're the only one I see

everything changes
everything falls apart
can't stop to feel myself losing control
but deep in my senses I know

how stupid could I be
a simpleton could see
that you're no good for me
but you're the only one I see

24. You say that you're leaving,.....
Blue Rodeo - Hasn't hit me yet

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crfpN3n8lR0

You say that you're leaving
Well that comes as no surprise
Still I kinda like this feeling
Of being left behind

Yea this ain't nothing new to me
Well it's just like going home
It's kinda like those sunsets
That leave you feeling so stoned

Hey hey I guess it hasn't hit me yet
I fell through this crack
And I kinda lost my head
I stand transfixed
Before this street light
Watching the snow fall
On this cold December night

I never thought this could happen
But somehow the feeling is gone
You got sick of the patterns
And I got lost in this song
Hey hey I guess it hasn't hit me yet
I fell through this crack
And I kinda lost my head
I stand transfixed
Before this streetlight
Watching the snow fall
On this cold December night

Hey hey I guess it hasn't hit me yet
I fell through this crack
And I kinda lost my head
I stand transfixed
Before this streetlight
Watching the snow fall
On this cold December night

And out in the middle of Lake Ontario
The same snow is falling
On the deep silent water
The great dark wonder
Into the waves of my heart
Into the waves of my heart
Of my heart

26. Irish soldier Laddie Gary Og
Edited on Thu Aug-07-08 09:22 PM by Rambis
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwOmYNvISnM

Generic lyrics

'Twas a morning in July,
I was walking to Tipperary
When I heard a battle cry
From the mountains over head
As I looked up in the sky
I saw an Irish soldier laddie
He looked at me right fearlessly and said:

Will ye stand in the band like a true Irish man,
And go and fight the forces of the crown?
Will ye march with O'Neill to an Irish battle field?
For tonight we go to free old Wexford town!

Said I to that soldier boy
"Won't you take me to your captain
T'would be my pride and joy
For to march with you today.
My young brother fell in Cork
And my son at Innes Carthay!"
Unto the noble captain I did say:

Will ye stand in the band like a true Irish man,
And go and fight the forces of the crown?
Will ye march with O'Neill to an Irish battle field?
For tonight we go to free old Wexford town!

As we marched back from the field
In the shadow of the evening
With our banners flying low
To the memory of our dead
We returned unto our homes
But without my soldier laddie
Yet I never will forget those words he said:

Will ye stand in the band like a true Irish man,
And go and fight the forces of the crown?
Will ye march with O'Neill to an Irish battle field?
For tonight we go to free old Wexford town!

Say hello to the provos!
