Dude. You're going to risk your marriage and your career to boff a woman who looks like THIS?

Sorry, folks, Call me a pig (even a male chauvinist one), or whatever, but Jesus, Johnny-boy, don't you have any standards?

79. What this lawyer does for fun....

...is to look at state lawyer ethics codes and find out which states had to actually put in their code of professional conduct, a rule prohibiting having sex with your own client.

It comes up mostly with divorce lawyers, but I gotta say...

If a lawyer hasn't figured out the right way to screw his/her clients, then he/she needs to get more experience.

50. Except that he was gambling not getting caught with hand delivering...
repug control over for the next decade. All we would need is for our candidate to have been caught with his literal pants down to insure more bushco. I'm sorry, none of my business? Only if it were so, the people who want to be president are our business. And don't give me that its his private life. If he lies to his wife, I cannot trust him. And just as we lambasts Newt and Bob Barr, Edwards has joined them in politcal limbo, with GAry HArt sitting at the head of the table.

I also saw an interview with her from a year or so ago and she doesn't look like that at all - she's really cute and animated.

you're reading that one wrong...
Charles ALWAYS loved Camilla. He asked his mother for permission to marry her, but he was denied. He ALWAYS wanted Camilla. Diana was the younger looking version of the original.

I swear, as much as I love Princess Diana, Charles and Camilla have the great love story here, if I am to tell the truth.

94. OMG!
Dianna was a shallow, media hungry dim wit. She had nothing in common with Prince Charles. He shouldn't have married her. Camilla was pretty as a girl and still is attractive for her age. I like her. His sons like her.

Camilla knows her place and it's not shoving Charles out the way so she can get her mug on the telly. Dianna was so petty. I believe much of what she did was just photo ops to make the public like her more than Charles. Remember how she used to run down a public street in her leotards to go to a public gym? WTF? She could have a trainer and a gym in her own home. She called the media out to the Mediterranean so she could have photos all over the papers of herself swimming with her latest boyfriend to take attention away from Charles and the event he was having at that time.

She was supposed to be a Princess not some tart on the East Enders.
I'd take the plainer more interesting person than the fluff for brains myself.

Edwards cheats on his wife, and your first thought is that she's not pretty enough? You don't know anything about her. Maybe she was able to fill an emotional void that Edwards thought he was lacking. I don't know, and neither do you.

BUT! To bring her looks into this, makes you sound like a high school kid. How attractive should she be (according to your standards) to make the affair more understandable to you?

You gotta wonder what was happening while that picture was being taken...was someone showing her a nude photo of Richard Simmons, or what?

If she had been prettier, you'd be less disturbed by the affair.

To be honest, she could use a less Rod Stewart-like hair style, but she's not an "uggo" by any stretch of the imagination. If she posted some pics on DU, a lot of guys would be trying to get in her pants via compliments and PMs.

I don't (as a married man) approve of her affair with JE, but I'm not gonna be an asshole and comment on her looks. She looks just fine, and maybe the affair didn't begin because of "looks".

His campaign and his wife's health were both huge amounts of stress. She was there, and they apparently reached out for each other.

I'm sorry he felt the need to do this, but I won't judge him for it. I hope it was what he needed at the time, and I hope it doesn't destroy his marriage or the rest of his professional life.

Like swimming naked with girls?

Yeah! Like swimming naked with girls.Well, not with girls. You think I was swimming with girls?

I saw just one girl.

Who, that girl? Oh, no, that's a waitress. No, I was just ordering in. She's a pool waitress. I was ordering some fish for you, Audrey and Mom.

She took your order?

She took my order, yeah. Swimming waitress. You understand, don't you, Russ?

80. I do understand. But as sister to one sister who recently
had a double mastectomy, and sister to yet another sister who is going to have a single mastectomy next week, if either of their husbands did this to them while they were struggling with cancer, I'd hunt them down and cut their balls off with a rusty knife and shove them up their nostrils. To feel your very femininity is compromised because you lose your breasts, and your asshole husband goes out to fuck someone with two tits - well, he'd just better be glad he's not my brother in law. Now I don't believe Elizabeth had mastectomies because her cancer is terminal, but still.

I can see Edwards' stress, and understand it, but jesus christ, man. Go see a therapist (to TALK). This infuriates me more than I can possibly express.

End of rant.

And yes, if he was going to risk his marriage, it should have been with Miss America.

It's still sad though. I feel sorry for Elizabeth Edwards, she's had a tough time. This is not her fault. (I'm not saying that anyone on this thread is saying that, I'm just saying that.)

You are so cool, CaliforniaPeggy.

Actually, we don't know if Elizabeth had anything to do with his affair or not...

I'm just going to say that affairs do NOT happen in a vacuum.

There are always reasons.

And of course, the whole situation is sad.

My best friend is gay, and he is habitually finding married guys at bars who want bj's.

I love JE, just the same. It is a private matter between the two of them.

I have seen cases that I'd never have expected, knowing the participants.

64. people cheat for many reasons but stress is one of them
Edited on Fri Aug-08-08 08:54 PM by lionesspriyanka
people cheat to feel wanted, needed, attractive or even to feel special. sometimes its harder to get these needs met with a sick spouse. not the spouse's fault but a bad situation overall.

doesnt make it ideal but its understandable.

it doesnt make you a bad person, it makes you human. human being make mistakes and do stupid thing

also the looks of the other person doesnt matter if all you want is comfort and a desire to be needed

95. I think she's kind of hot in a sleazy kinda way.
Edited on Sat Aug-09-08 03:04 PM by sammythecat
If I was in a bar looking for a one night stand and she was available, I'd be interested. No question. Would either of us want to see the other ever again? That would depend on a lot more than looks.

Like everyone else there are some characteristics I find more or less appealing than others, and probably a couple (like stupidity) that are deal breakers, but my standards, and history, regarding attractiveness are pretty broad. I see no deal breakers here with this woman, but I don't know her personality either and that's the most important criterion of all by far.

Personality can make the physically "ugly" beautiful or the beautiful ugly. Janeane Garofalo might be a good example. She's not ugly and she's not classically beautiful. If I knew nothing about her other than a photo I'd consider her very average and might not give her a second look if I passed her in a shopping mall, but her strong liberal minded personality combined with "decent" looks makes her hot in my book. Very hot, in fact. If she was a dittohead she'd be just as unattractive to me as Ann Coulter.

Maybe we should wait till we know more about this woman before criticizing her looks. She's likely a liberal Democrat for one thing. Who knows, she might read DU or even be a member. The only thing I know for sure about this woman is she had an affair with Edwards, and I know zero details about that affair. She might have been seduced and taken advantage of by a famous, brilliant, and good looking man, or she might be ruthless, gold digging, home wrecker.

I also think that's probably a very bad shot of her, and of course that's the one the tabloids would choose to show us.

Anyway, I'd fuck her. I'd fuck her if she'd fuck me, put it that way. I guess my standards are just as low as John Edwards'.

One last thing. Other than her hair, there's not a whole hell of a lot this woman can do to please those who find her physically unattractive. I do think it's unkind and unfair to ridicule someone because of something they can't possibly do anything about. Unless, of course, that person is someone like Ann Coulter who is herself unkind and unfair, but even then I know I'm taking a cheap shot that I shouldn't take. Ideally, I'd criticize Coulter for her heart(or lack of), and try to keep the fact that I think she looks like a stick figure with the face of a ghoul to myself.
