I've been impressed by his performance in OZ.

5. In theaters on September 12th
I will be very curious to see this one. From the trailer, it promises to be a return to the zaniness of their earlier movies.

Good to see Frances McDormand back in a leading role! B-)

My personal Top 3 Coen Brothers movies
1. Raising Arizona (a riot from beginning to end)
2. Fargo (deserved winner of 2 Academy Awards)
3. The Big Lebowski (some very funny moments)

The Ladykillers was a re-make of an old British movie. I hated it. But then I usually don't enjoy watching Tom Hanks. He certainly can't do comedy.

No Country For Old Men was well made with good acting. But the script was taken from a novel and lacked the humor of the Coen's own screenplays.

12. Mine so far:
Oh Brother Where Art Thou?
Fargo
Hudsucker Proxy

This may change after I watch Lebowski which I am now debating just holding on to until I go to AZ next week to see my daughter because she hasn't seen it either, I have a couple of others to watch too and the Olympics are getting in the way of my movie time.

Thank Goodness for Netflix.

13. Blood Simple
is good, but it's their first film and it doesn't have the budget their other films have. anyway, I really like it, too. The Coen Bros. did a remastered version a while back and I got to see it at a film festival.

The Man Who Wasn't There is also amazing.

14. Blood Simple is my sentimental favorite
I saw it in 1984 and was blown away by it (the newspaper hitting the screen door still makes me jump)

Incidentally, it's funny how many of their movies involve kidnapping.

16. They're very common on YouTube
For some reason theaters never play them, even before R-rated movies. Don't ask me why.

20. So?
It's not like you don't see swearing in an R-rated movie. If it's OK for the movie why not the trailers?

21. Because a trailer can be shown at anytime ...
and they want to ensure they don't 'offend'.

11. What's that song used in the trailer?
At the 1:20 mark a song starts. Last year, another trailer used the same song. I've wracked my brain trying to suss out what it is. I even tried googling some lyrics to no avail.

19. Thank you so much
It was one of those songs from way back in radio days that I liked, but forgot about. I was googling "I got a *light* on you".
:hi:
