4. It totally sucks because I'm not even calling for me.
I'm calling for my boss, who currently can't call out on his phone. He had to fax me to have me call him.

24. Better than the awful corporate video theme music my former employer used
for hold music. The kind that just grates your teeth and gives you a headache.

It was supposedly composed especially for us but I swear that it is the same music Cook Children's Hospital uses in its billing offices.

another thing I do not miss about my former job.

I personally like baroque music, classical music or 'cool jazz' for hold music. Less irritating all around.

I know many of you find KennyG irritating but believe me compared to that drivel, KennyG is like the symphony.

14. Hold music always sucks.
I think they deliberately choose the most annoying music they can find so people will hang up rather than actually demand some form of customer service.

Remember when we had the plumber guys out to charge $2800 for sewer work?

Well, it seems likely that their sawing into the main line caused something else to leak, and we can't afford to get it fixed right now. So we've got buckets in the downstairs bathroom.
