My mom, who is pretty keen on the whole "war on terror" idea, borrowed a couple of books from me...

"Al Qaeda" by Jason Burke and "The Shock Doctrine" by Naomi Klein. This should prove interesting. (She's open minded enough that I'm hoping they'll shift her views a little.)

2. Her heart's in the right place, she just has a little too much faith in the government and military.

She does hope Obama wins the election down there, but she just doesn't quite have the full on understanding of the war on terror that I think more people need.

one after the other, day after day, nesting little twigs together, paying bills and all the rest of the mundane stuff. And I think we do have if nothing else the remains, the tatters of what we may have thought to have been a 'republic for which it stands', stuff like that...you know what I mean

Take it from me - whose parents think that all babies born in the ME are "terrorists in training", and that when we kill Iraqi children, "Better to take care of it now, than when they have the ability to attack us on OUR soil".

Oh - and Naomi Klein, Michael Moore and Keith Olbermann are propagandists; Barack Obama is a Muslim; and that people like you and I have been completely ravaged by the power of Satan, to a point where you and I can't see the forest for the trees. You and I are driving this country into a hellhole - but that's okay! Because the Bible said this was going to happen before the Rapture.
