People who are on the shitlist for today:
--People who, when seeing that you're writing, immediately ask you what you're writing, and aren't satisfied with the briefest of brush-offs or grudging summaries
--People who feel the need to interact with anyone practicing a musical instrument. I don't play so you can ask me a mundane question about how my day was. Playing =/= social hour or sharing stories about the day time.
--People who call you eighteen times within the span of five minutes. Special hate to those who keep calling and saying "I forgot to mention..." even after you've explained that you're too busy to chat.

:grr:

1. The last one I'll agree with.
The first two, you might want to lighten up a bit. Maybe I'm just attention starved or something but whenever I'm doing something like that, I'm stoked if people take any kind of interest.

2. But the time to take interest is not in the middle of doing something that requires concentration.
When I practice the piano, I don't mess around with it. When people come in in the middle of my practicing and start asking me questions, it's bad enough--harder to concentrate, and I usually have difficulty recovering from such a session. It's even worse when they ask me "How was your day?" and expect more than a grunt in reply. Ask me that later. Similarly, ask me questions about writing later, too. I'll be happy to answer, just not when it requires breaking the creative flow.

3. I dunno, maybe I'm just overly friendly or something...

But I really can't understand being pissed about something like that. If I don't want people to bug me when I'm writing or drawing or playing music, I won't do it where there are people. Simple solution. But if I'm doing that in public, whatever, doesn't bother me in the least.
