The "Destroy Fascism" sticky just reminded of something odd from Friday night...

I went to my friends' band's CD release show Friday night. They are an anarchist/anti-racist punk band. A dude showed up at the show wearing a shirt that said "Goodnight red pride." It was subtle enough in its meaning that we weren't sure what it meant.

Then a few minutes later he took that off to revea the t-shirt he had beneath it: A plain white shirt with a swastika on it. (So the red pride shirt was a reference to communism, it turns out.)

He was approached and told he was at the wrong fucking show, and that he might want to leave. It was kinda surreal, you don't see many neo-Nazi types around these parts. (Like the singer of the band, Pat, said, the people here are either smart enough to not be white supremacists, or the white supremacists around here are smart enough to not advertise it in public.)
