That is such a crock of sh*t. You have to figure that they were grading the Chinese girl up because she's the Home Team. Even though she landed on her KNEES. Poor Alicia. I really feel bad for her. I hope that Marta files a protest on those results.

It is beyond me how a girl who went out of bounds twice gets the gold, and a girl who had a major execution error and completely fell on her face on her 2nd vault medals at all (much less ahead of several other people whose only errors were tiny hops on a landing). :wtf:

This new scoring system is completely screwed up - it rewards everyone for trying the most difficult thing possible even if they completely screw it up and flail around on the apparatus, and punishes people who execute perfectly at a lower level. And for some reason I can't fathom the judges keep giving all the Chinese gymnasts a pass on all their mistakes.

Seriously, I think that was the most messed up scoring I think I've ever seen in a gymnastics event right there. Giving that Chinese girl the bronze was just absolutely inexcusable, start values or no. And I also thought the older German lady was better than the Korean girl who was given the gold. She got ripped off too.

The difficulty should not be so weighted that they are allowed to not fully execute. It's not fair at all, and leads to sloppy gymnastics.
