Has anyone here ever fought a camera-enforced ticket?

The bottom line is that the pics and video clearly show that I didn't even come CLOSE to running a red light. Thus, this is either a screw-up on their part, or a flagrant attempt to con me out of a not insignificant sum of money. I've asked around, and enough people have told me that fighting these things are virtually impossible, unless you are prepared to spend thousands of dollars to fight a $117 ticket. This worries me a little.

Anyone with some pearls of wisdom? Or at least a story I can relate to?

you have the right to confront your accuser and question him/her. Unless they plan on hauling a talking traffic camera into the courtroom, I would say you are ok...

4. Technically, the accuser is some cop who supposedly reviewed the evidence...

But he's either incompetent, or a lying sack of shit based on the evidence.

2. Oh yeah.

I have successfully defeated it - all of 'em.

Why? My dad and I co-own my car. It always goes to my dad for some reason, so we challenge it saying it's not me, and it gets waived.

6. I've heard of some being waived...

... and then others where they just flatly say "We don't care. Pay up." And since this isn't really and truly a hearing (no judge involved- just representatives from the contractor) they can do whatever they want.

7. I still view camera aided traffic tickets as an violation of my 4th Amendement rights.

Let the cops do their jobs. We've got enough speeders here in Colorado, so it's bad enough that the cops are not chasing the speeders.

and there is a BAD problem with people blowing through red lights here. But put an officer at the bad intersections from time to time, for pete's sake!!!

5. I read through that one- Thanks....

It's more geared towards fighting a ticket when the evidence is debatable, though. I clearly was in complete conformity to the law; therefore, I shouldn't be asked to waste my personal time going to some hearing. They should review the evidence and throw this out. But I'm hearing that such a thing doesn't happen.
