Damn! A guy I know just lost out at the Olympics.
Mike Zadick, he made the freestyle wrestling team. I haven't talked to him in over a decade but, we know each other a little from Montana wrestling. He was the world silver medalist two years ago, but his weight class didn't qualify for the Olympics, so he had to petition to get in at the last minute after two Bulgarian wrestlers were hurt. I was hoping he could do it, but it looks like it wasn't meant to be. He might be able to come back and get bronze, I hope. What a rollercoaster for him, not being in, then being in at the last minute, now he lost. Tough luck.

But at least he made it, I mean honestly, how many people can say they were an Olympic athlete?

I'm sorry to say, Bill...

I don't know much about freestyle wrestling - but all I saw was that he was slapping that Ukrainian.

(Caught the match on my flight home on DirecTV)

2. I heard he didn't look good
I just don't think he was prepared the way he could have been. He's spent the last several months needing a miracle to get in the tournament and somehow it happened. Not sure how he could have been properly prepared in that situation. The guy he lost to is in the gold medal match, so it wasn't like he lost to a chump. But Mike was a world silver medalist, and he lost that at the last second, so he's about as good as anyone when he's on his game, obviously he wasn't here.
