My 5 1/2 year old daughter wanted to wear shorts under her dress today
because she was afraid the boys would see her panties if she didn't.

I think my chances of having a heart attack in the next 10 years just increased dramatically.

2. That's what I was thinking too.
Poor NewJeffCT would have a guarantee of heart failure if she wanted them to see her panties!
:-)

3. My dear NewJeffCT!
It's quite a ride, being a parent, isn't it?

Hang in there...

You're doing great, and so is she!

16. If she turns out well
It will be in spite of me, I think.

I've had several parents compliment our daughter for how well-behaved she is and want to know our secret, and I honestly have no clue what the secret is because I don't think we do anything special.

5. I don't blame her. When I was in first grade
the older boys at my bus stop used to try to lift up my skirt and grope me. I distinctly remember smacking one of them with a fruit roll-up. I think my mom started driving me to school after a while.

by not wearing panties.

11. a friend of mine's young daughter was recently sent home from school...
...to put on panties under her dress. She'd apparently been going commando because her mom had explained the importance "of letting the air flow around my vagina." One cannot be too conscientious about that sort of thing!

17. She has some of those, but this
was a new dress that my wife had just bought on a recent business trip - unfortunately, my wife is sometimes clueless about sizes and the like, so bought a sun dress that probably would have fit her better last summer in terms of length.

19. when I look back on old photos of us as kids I'm shocked by how short our dresses were
this was my 2 sisters and me back in the early 70s. I see the pictures and I think that there's no way in hell you wouldn't see panties if we bent over. Which I suppose is why they make ruffly panties for really little kids but this was in like 1st and 2nd grade.

23. arse crack showing
a 3 year old girl at daycare had her arse hanging out every day for two years because her mother put her in low rider jeans. I felt sorry for her she looked like a street walker more days than not.

18. I never, ever wore skirts w/o shorts when I got to grade school
because I was always running around like a maniac on the playground, on the swing, bars, etc. You can't be on a swing in a skirt w/o the air pushing your skirt up around your face, you can't emulate all the female gymnasts if you're worried your panties will show!

Maybe she's just becoming more active on the playground (in a totally innocent way)?

20. Of course. That was standard operating procedure when I was a lass.
Although, I basically stopped wearing dresses when I was about six until I was about ... well, I never really went back to dresses.

Monkey bars are the enemy of shortsless dress wearing, as I recall.

26. that was standard operating procedure when I was in 1st, 2nd & 3rd grades
My desire to wear shorts under my skirts diminished in direct proportion to my interest in using the playground equipment.

shorts/short leggings just for this. Plus, they are in style!! lol.
