Olympics **SPOILER**

Last night I was watching the prelims of 100m Hurdles and Lolo Jones was spouting off how she "was sending a message" to the rest of the field. I told her thru my TV to "keep your mouth shut, don't piss off the rest of the field" given what happened with the pole vaulter. What happens, she trips on the last hurdle and finishes 7th.

GENERALLY, they seem to be more obnoxious that way than many other athletes.

And I agree the sprinters are obnoxious. The part that I find amusing is how some act superior to a lot of the other athletes, because track has been the dirtiest sport in recent memory in the Olympics and has lost some luster to some people.

4. Yes -- the sprinters

I ran the 1500 and would be made to do the high jump if we needed someone else -- I'm 5'2", so enough said!

I know -- even though you figure the swimmers, etc. probably juice, the track athletes have been worse than cyclists, imo. At least they don't lie under oath, tamper with witnesses, and have check fraud schemes.

6. I felt worse for her than anyone in the Olympics so far

The 110 hurdles has more potential for a phony result than virtually any Olympic event. I was in the stands in Barcelona '92 when Gail Devers hit the last hurdle and lost a certain gold.

In that case Devers had a backup event, the 100 sprint. She won two gold medals in the 100 but never in her pet event, the 110 hurdles.

Lolo Jones was crushed, leaning against a wall and crying. She also cursed very obviously at least twice, including the F word when they zoomed in on her face after she sunk to the track following the race.

7. I felt badly for Jones

She had a tough childhood, failed to qualify for the 2004 team (I think she clipped a hurdle there too and didn't qualify) and now her Olympic dreams are shattered in seconds.
