I needed some good tunes to hold me over from about midnight until now so I could stay awake for the basketball game...he filled that gap quite nicely

:)

7. I dunno, but now you're going to make me listen to Floyd...
It's hard to say what is my favorite Pink Floyd song. They had a long career. And I am not all that fond of choosing the most obvious ones.

I guess my favorites were:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBkTUzKAiXQ -- Reminds me of the relationship between my father and grandmother, he was an only child of a single mom.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPm4GH3UUC8&feature=related -- Not a bad amateur video but I personally always thought the gunshot in the beginning was a significant part of the meaning.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qV7cWhmoG9w -- The lyrics say it all, especially near the end.

----

I'm fond of Goodbye Blue Sky, too, but ...

Sorry to hijack and I will respond to Bowie here in a bit...

8. So what did the Bowie fans here think of Tin Machine?
Seems that people are in one of two camps Really Loved it or Really Hated It.

I'm one of the "really loved it" people. I was pretty much bored by Bowie's mid 80's stuff, and then out of nowhere he forms this new band, and makes an actual rock album. Thought it was his best work since Young Americans actually.

And just in case you have no idea what the Hell I'm talking about.....

11. Not familiar with Tim Machine.
Now I'm going to have to go look for it. The Man Who Fell to Earth was good, albeit bizarre.

9. I like a lot of his stuff.
I had actually not seen Labyrinth until a few months back, so I didn't realize that the "voodoo" thing was from that movie.

I still have to say my favorite is his first.

It's my sister's favorite, too.

12. I like the video itself but.....
...really didn't care for that version of the song. Apparently neither did Bowie, since he completely scrapped it and started over.

He can write a tune, on the spot, about anything.
