Being a passenger on a motorcycle
I rarely get on a motorcycle, despite my lifelong ambition of learning to ride one (my family is adamantly opposed :) )

However, I often see passengers (mostly women) riding on motorcycles which are traveling super-fast. From my vantage point, being a passenger looks really scary; the motorcycle rider at least has handlebars to cling to.

1. First of all, if you want to ride...
do it! Life is for living, right? Don't let your family dictate how you live your life.

Just be sure to wear protective gear-- especially a helmet!

Here is a link for you about riding as a passenger:

Enjoy! :hi:

2. It is kinda scary at first.
How soon you get over the fear depends on how soon you learn to anticipate the driver's moves and tendencies....leaning, shifting, braking. Wear a helmet, hold on firm but not too tight, and never ever put your foot down...ever.

3. Ideally, the pillion just becomes part of the bike
A friend of mine had a Gold Wing and his wife used to fall asleep. Of course, she had back and arm rests.

4. I was a passenger before I was a rider...
Being a passenger is MUCH scarier that being a rider. I did both many years ago, and I wouldn't have the stones to be in either seat now.
