I mean, she doesn't suck in that video by any means, and she can do some things with her voice, but she doesn't have the depth of Dusty, nor the inate understanding of her vocals.

Was she at the convention or something?

heavy schedule of interviews a while back when her album was being pushed and she knows her stuff-- she rattled off quotes and diddled on riffs from everyone from Leadbelly to Coltrane and back again.

She lives music, and the songs are good. Did the people bitching about her voice bitch as much about Bob
Dylan's?

Me? I find her "interesting" and she has the kind of voice that I shouldn't like, but do. Maybe it's the honesty in it that works overtime.

(Kinda like Dylan's.)

But coming from someone (me) who has heard ONE Amy Winehouse song (Rehab) and one Duffy song (Mercy) they are damn near indistinguishable.

Duffy sounds like a lo-fidelity clone of Amy Winehouse... but again, all I know of these two people are the eerily similar radio hits that I have been unable to avoid.

She may not be the blonde, American, clean and sober Amy Winehouse, but she sure is being marketed as such.
