The thing that truly sucks about rooting against a hurricane
Unless it's coming in from the Atlantic and could loop out to sea, it will have to hit somewhere. So you end up feeling guilty about not wanting it to hit you.

Texas needed to take one for the team (referring to Gustav not hitting the MS coast or NOLA)!! I always root for them to magically dissipate.

Just wanted to clear up the fact that I didn't say TX needed to take one for the team. We have all had our share of hurricane damage. Well not ALL of us.

5. I wouldn't mind getting one in TX
I wouldn't mind getting one in TX. When they hit the coast, it usually means a few days of rain and breeze in north Texas (i.e., relatively pleasant weather when considering what late summers are usually like in D/FW).

I'm certainly not *hoping* a hurricane wipes out Galveston (again); but it domes seem that LA, MS, FL and the Carlina's have had far too many of them.

3. My hometown in northern MS got 8 inches of rain in 3 hours.
This was from Gustav. You don't even have to live too near the coast to get some really shitty hurricane weather.
