4. Don't give away the Gay Agenda.
If scientists knew that homosexuals were secretly behind the Collider, hoping to give everyone teh Gay...You've heard of the God particle? They've found teh Gay particle, and it's catching.

10. ok
Mendel showed that the inheritance of traits follows particular laws,
which were later named after him. The significance of Mendel's work
was not recognized until the turn of the 20th century. Its rediscovery
prompted the foundation of the discipline of genetics.

OK, it's something I made up just now.

I always misread the word Hadron.

15. Nothing will happen. This is the biggest scam of the 21 Century
Here we have a bunch of otherwise unemployable, overeducated PhD in physics getting funding for little bits of energy that only 'they' can see.

PRESS RELEASE: "Take our word for it, the money invested here has allowed us to see things nobody else in the world can see"

20. The microscopic black hole inadvertently created will slowly
start sucking the atmosphere into its event horizon, eventually growing in size and mass, sinking into the Earth and hollowing out the core as it orbits the interior.

The unsupported mantle will collapse in continent-sized fragments into the black hole as it eventually devours the planet from within.

The Earth will implode in a spectacular fashion.

The upside of all this is, I won't have to worry about Christmas shopping this year.
