Anyone using one of those fancy "powered" toothbrushes?
Just saw an ad for one that looked pretty sweet from Oral B, and I'm thinking about upgrading from the manual version to the 7,000 RPM version.

Input, thoughts, opinions?

2. I use the Braun version of the Oral-B...
The kind with the small, round head.

They are fantastic.

You can get a really good job done with them in a short amount of time.

Highly recommended by me, and my dentist also.

3. I have an oral B
toothbrush and it does work a lot better than a regular toothbrush for me. But I have a small mouth and the smaller heads on these brushes work better in my mouth.

5. Sonicare.
I really, really like it (though it does take a little getting used to).

My dentist has been thrilled with my teeth since I started using it.

It was too rough on my gums, caused damage. :( It was great for tartar control though.

20. I have the Oral-B ProfessionalCare 8000 series.
http://www.oralb.com/us/products/product.asp?tid=products&sub=power&cid=power&pid=pc8000

I spent $110 on it and I love it. I'll never go back to manual toothbrushes again.

22. I have that one,
and it's great.

Best of all, I found toothbrush heads on eBay for ONE DOLLAR EACH!!!! I bought all the guy had - forty of them.

It's like having your teeth professionally cleaned every day.

29. I couldn't believe it
And because I bought more than $15 worth of stuff, the shipping was free. Making the deal even better.

They had been in a warehouse somewhere, and their packaging was a tiny bit discolored. But, perfectly sealed. I'll never get another deal like that again.

And, thinking of you earlier, I noticed that I'm going to have to change my toothbrush head in a day or two. See? You're immortal..............

:hi:

21. I've got a Sonicare.
Works GREAT. A hell of a lot better and faster than brushing manually. Replacement bristles/heads are a bit tricky to find, though, and it's got a tendency for crud to collect on it.

24. I couldn't get into a Sonicare.
My teeth never felt clean, and, finally, I returned it and bought another Oral-B.

I guess it's just a matter of taste.

(Was that a pun?

If it was, I apologize.)

31. word of advice
before you purchase one look into how much the replacement brush heads cost. I'm sort of OCD about dental hygiene and I have 2 different electric toothbrushes (and a bunch of battery powered ones) and one of them (I think it's the Sonicare) the replacement heads are ridiculously expensive (IIRC about $10 a pop). Something to consider before you decide what to get.

32. Oh, my god. It took me half a dozen readings of this subject line -
to realize it didn't say powdered toothbrushes! (I was thinking, WTF is that?)

Mr. LIW and two little LIW kids use Oral B powered toothbrushes. My dentist recommends powered toothbrushes, but I haven't gotten around to buying one for myself.

Mine is set for two minutes. I swear it feels like I have been brushing for an hour. Keeps you honest.
