I am going to the lawyer tomorrow to sign my divorce papers... so they can be filed..
then we get a "date" to go to court


I know it has to be done
but it still hurts
and it feels like I have failed.....

It took me awhile, but now I celebrate both May 12 (the day my ex asked for the divorce) and January 26 (the day it was officially granted). It's much better than dwelling on our anniversary, which was unfortunately the day after my birthday.

You'll get through this, and be a better person for it, I just know it. Take care of yourself. :hug:

I am trying not to think about our anniversary, which isn't until next March
and i will celebrate my "independence day" also

You have NOT failed. Sometimes things don't work out. In the long run I feel it will be for the best. It's rough now but it won't always be like that. You will be fine. Just think, you're in the majority now! Most American marriages end up in divorce! :P ;) :)
