Check out the bike that I found in the garbage today!!!
My neighbors threw it out for some reason:

Apparently it's a 1972 Schwinn DeLuxe Twinn:

The color is "Kool Lemon".

I can't wait to start restoring it! Everything on it is original: leather seats, pedals, etc. It was built in Chicago, and it weighs a fuckin' TON!

WOOOOO! Free bike!

2. I still haven't forgiven them for stealing my garbage can.
But today, I'm willing to put that in the past.

10. Nah. No ass-kicking is necessary today.
I'm excited about having a vintage bike to restore, so all past beefs are forgiven. (Also, I let my dog poop in their yard a few times, so I guess we're even...)

3. Those bikes are a bitch to ride.
I know, it's fun at first, but as one person or both of you get tired, it becomes a real PITA to ride.

That's probably why the neighbors threw it out.

4. Nice buzzkill.
We're skilled cyclists, but we're both totally stoked about restoring that old heavy behemoth sonovabitch and riding our asses down the road in style. Sometimes the trip is more important than the destination.

15. No problem.
Just relating my own experiences riding a bicycle like that.

(Although riding in the back, with a pretty girl up front can be fun AND stimulating...) ;-)

11. Usually my wife blows snot-rockets on me.
She always says that she's sorry, but I can see her laughing.

12. I love tandems!
Never ridden one, but would love to give it a go sometime :D

So, are you leaving it the lemony yellow or do you want to get 'bold'? Mebbe try a little faux-pink-granite? :P

14. I think I need to stay "vintage".
Even the handlebar grips are original, so I can't imagine changing anything. The big problem is going to be matching the paint in the few areas where it's scratched and rusted.

17. Okay
I didn't know you wanted to do a vintage-restore or just a "get-it-working" restore :)

Good luck taking on that task :D
