Apparently there's no REAL coffee to be found in the building, so some half-wit douchebag thought it would be just fine to brew decaf in all the pots and not tell anybody about it.
Sometimes it's amazing how close people can come to a gruesome, bloody demise and they don't even know it.
The basic theroy is there, but there's just no point to it.
A fitting punishment to the doucebag who brewed the nasty stuff would be to superglue his earbuds in and put nothing put Celine Dion tunes on his playlist. Although that may backfire, as someone who thinks psudo coffee is ok might think the same about psudo music.
