Need an entymology lesson because they're bug-ging me...
The other day I put a pot of water on for pasta. When I poured the pasta in I saw about a dozen small black beetles floating in the water. Paul and I checked the box that the pasta came in but there was too much there to see anything. We looked in a box of lasagna noodles and there they were. Several dozen of them crawling on the bottom of the box.

What the heck are these things?

2. If you bought it recently and still have a reciept you could take it back to the store
health wise they actually won't hurt you, but aesthetically they are gross. Toss the products and clean cupboards well. Store starchy things like pasta, rice, cereals, flour etc in jars or other bug proof containers. Also a trick when you buy in bulk is to freeze stuff for a few days to kill anything that might be present.

4. Pasta and rice are usually the things they come home in.
I keep them in tupperware or zipper bags so if something gets buggy I can pitch it without having to clean out the whole f'n cabinet. Once you're infested, anything starchy and unsealed is suspect.

Though locally, the problem tends to be moths that like the same food.
